Hello and welcome! My Name is Benjamin Albuisson, I am a student, filmmaker, and photographer born and raised in Boulder, Colorado. I currently attend the University of Colorado Boulder, where I am pursuing a bachelor's degree in fine arts, majoring in Cinema Studies with an emphasis on production.
After completing high school, I took a detour away from education and into the world of trade schools and a demanding job as a solar panel installer. I was clocking 50-hour work weeks, while attending night school to be an electrician. However, my heart was always drawn to the art of visual storytelling. I made the decision to leave my seemingly stable job and follow my passion for photography and videography.
I am 21 now and over the past three years since high school, I've immersed myself in the world of visual arts. From working as a portrait photographer for Balfour Graduation, to venturing into entrepreneurship- establishing my own real estate marketing business. Offering a suite of services including Matterport 3D tours, as well as videography, and photography with drone flights.
Although my journey started with photography at the age of 15, my focus has shifted predominantly to video over the past two years. Returning to school marked a new chapter in my creative life. Since joining the college community, I've started focusing on a wide array of subjects to film. I've directed, filmed and edited a music video, as well as contributed to other music videos as a color grader for directors in Los Angeles. I have also worked on several shorts films as either director or cinematographer. And have even set up lights for a David Yarrow photoshoot.
Beyond the classroom, I was an active member of the Sko Buffs Sports Club. Eventually moving to an internship with Colorado University Athletics. So far, I’ve had the opportunity to film basketball, volleyball, track, DEI events, NIL videos, media days and more. I have been captivated by the idea of filming sports since the first day I picked up a camera.
I am now working on directing my first feature length film, Disconnected: Life In A Digital Reality. Every project, every frame, and every edit represent my dedication to the art of storytelling. I'm here not just to capture images and footage, but to convey emotions, narratives, and the essence of the human experience. Thank you for joining me here - I look forward to sharing more stories with you.
